Join members of the Houston Health Association/Natural Hygiene Network for their monthly meeting on Monday, November 3. The group meets on the first Monday of the month at 6:30 PM (except during holidays). The location is A Moveable Feast Cafe in Houston, where several vegetarian & vegan options are available.

Vegetarian Ayurvedic Cooking Class Series - Part Two: "Ayurvedic Nutrition: Understanding The Six Tastes"
Ayurvedic specialist & chef Karuna Mayi will teach a vegetarian cooking workshop (many recipes are vegan!)that demonstrates how to prepare a delicious, healthy vegetarian meal based on the ancient holistic healing system of Ayurveda. This class, "Ayurvedic Nutrition: Understanding The Six Tastes (Creating A Balanced Meal)", is part two of a three part series (classes may be taken consecutively or individually).
The class will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM in Houston. Society of PEACE member Karuna Mayi has been practicing and teaching vegetarian cooking for the past twelve years. CLICK HERE for the event flyer and additional information on the class.

The 20th Annual Lone Star Vegetarian Network Chili Cook-off Festival in Austin
The LSVN presents the 20th annual "Vegetarian Chili Cook-off Festival" in Austin, Texas. Join other Texans for this celebrations of vegetarian cuisine and vote for your favorite vegan chili! Society of P.E.A.C.E. will be there with our vegan chili, so please come out and show your support!

Vegan Cooking Class - "Thanksgiving Dinner the Vegan Way"
Leisure Learning Unlimited presents a "Thanksgiving Dinner the Vegan Way" cooking class, featuring vegan personal chef and radio personality Staci Davis. The class is Sunday, November 9, 2008 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM in Sharpstown area (SW Frwy at Fondren) in Houston. Staci will teach you how to prepare a meatless gourmet feast with recipes for mock turkey with wild mushroom and sage gravy, maple roasted root vegetables, green bean and artichoke casserole, apple-beet Waldorf salad, and pumpkin pecan pie.
